Seeds of Hope Summer Day Camp Counsellor Position

Toronto Youth for Christ/Youth Unlimited is a Christian youth-serving agency dedicated to transforming the lives of 500,000 teenagers who live in the Greater Toronto Area. We help community youth by addressing their personal, material and spiritual needs, bringing to them the hope and truth of Jesus Christ through community programs, gospel teaching, and mentoring relationships.

Seeds of Hope is a summer day camp for children living in the Jane & Finch area of Toronto. We are currently seeking Day Camp Counsellors. Job duties will include planning and running summer day camp programming (as part of a team) for youth, including crafts, bible lessons, sports, discussion groups, mentoring and outings.

 

This position is paid starting at $17.20/hr for approximately 9 weeks starting Jun 15. You must be between 18-30 years of age.

 

This position will be supervised by an experienced Staff Youth Worker. You will participate in orientation, community and youth culture understanding, training in job skills, program planning, feedback and coaching, teamwork & leadership skills.

 

We are looking for candidates who have completed at least one year of college education. A successful candidate will be organized, responsible, flexible, have a passion for working with youth, and have some experience facilitating small and large groups. The candidates should preferably have some cross-cultural experience and experience leading Bible lessons and/or worship song time for kids.
